Symbolic cemetery is one of the much-sought-for place in the High Tatras mountains. The elevation of this cemetery is 1525 meters and is set close to Ostrva´s slopes and Popradske pleso. We may see there 160 memory desks and 50 beautifully hand-carved crosses. The symbolic cemetery is made by Otakar Stafl. It was a Slovak artist who lived in years 1884 and 1945. Thus artist and his wife started the building of this cemetery in about 1936 as a memory of those who had died in the High Tatras mountains.
